Chapter 1: (BETRAYALS)

~Sonny has left Brenda and is still in hiding. Brenda has tried to pick up her life but it
seems to be getting worse than better. It is 6 months later and Brenda is having a hard
time modeling. She just can’t seem to get into it. Everyone is trying to be there for her
but is driving her nuts. Robin is still in Paris and Lois is back for a little while. Jax and
V are still working together.

Brenda wakes up to the pounding of the door. (she is at her new house) She opens the
door and finds nobody there. She steps out and takes a look around but there is
nobody there. She looks down and finds a red rose with a note attached. She smiles
thinking it’s from Jax. She picks it up and opens the note.

Jason makes his way to Robin’s apartment in Paris. He knocks on the door. She
opens it and reluctantly lets him in.

“Jason, I told you that I am fine. What are you doing here?”

“I had to make sure for myself. Brenda is being sent notes and someone ruined her
shoot the other day. I just had to make sure you were safe and that nothing was going
bad because of me.”

“Well, I am fine. Have you heard from Sonny? Does he know what’s happening with
Brenda?”

“Robin I hate to keep things from you but I can’t say.”

“Right. I guess you don’t owe me anything. I mean we’re not together anyway.”

Lois knocks on Jaxs’ PH door and V answers it.

“Hey, V is Jax around?”

“He stepped out for a minute. I think he went to go see Brenda.”

“Did he say if she was ok?”

“Well, not really. He just got a phone call and he bolted.”

“Uh...I wonder what that was about?”

Sonny’s phone rings at his beach house in Costa Rica. He runs from his deck to the
phone.

“Yeah.”

“It’s me. What do you want me to do now?”

“Luke, I don’t know. I mean, it’s really not safe for me to come back. I need to set up
another meeting with Reece I guess.”

“Is that wise?”

“Probably not, but do I have a choice?”

“Do you think he is behind these things happening with Brenda?”

“It would be my guess. If anything happens to her I swear I’ll....”

“Don’t worry. Me and Jason are keeping any eye on her. But we wished she wouldn’t
have moved into the country in that big house.”

“I know. Look, I will call you when I get a meeting with Reece set. Keep me posted if
anything else goes down with Brenda.”

“I will. Be careful.”

“Yeah.”

They hang up the phone and Sonny walks back out onto the deck of the beach house.

“Oh, Brenda if I could only be there to keep you safe or if I could only have you
here.” He whispers.

Chapter 2:

Sonny picks up his cell phone and dials the number for Reece’s cell phone. The phone
is busy. Sonny pulls the phone away and just looks at it. He thought this was the right
number.

“Why the h*ll is it busy?” Sonny whispers.

Reece is getting anoid by the man he is on the phone with. He didn’t know how to get
out of the mess that he had gotten himself into.

“I know. I thought you wanted me to send her that note so she would think Sonny is
stalking her.” Reece says.

“She’s not going to think that note was from Sonny. Sonny would go to her. He
wouldn’t tell her he is watching her. What were you thinking.” The man on the other
end of the phone says.

“Ok. I screwed up. What do you want me to do now?” Reece asks.

“I don’t know.”

“Look, I got Corinthos out of town. You never said I would have to do anymore.
Why do you want her hurting or scared? What are you trying to do?” Reece
questioned.

“This is my business and you do what I tell you to do without asking questions. Do you
understand?” The man demands.

“Yes, but.....Are you going to find Mr. Corinthos and kill him?”

“No, I am not going to kill him unless he provokes me. All I want is him out of town so
I can do what I want to do.”

“What about his right hand man and his partner Luke Spencer?” Reece asks.

“If they get in my way then I will just have to deal with them, too. Now I have got to
go. I’ll be in touch.”

The man hangs up and so does Reece. Reece is afraid that this game has gone to far
and he doesn’t know what could happen next.

Jason looks at Robin. He is angry that she wants answers and uses them not seeing
each other anymore to guilt trip him.

“Robin, what is that suppose to mean?”

“Nothing. It’s the truth, isn’t it?”

“Yes, but not by my choice.”

“What are you really here for, Jason? Did you come to make me hurt even more?
Make me want you to stay? WHAT?” She says in a frustrated tone.

Lois stops by the gatehouse early that morning. (She does not have a baby in this one)
Ned answers the door and let’s her in.

“Your sure here early.” Ned says.

“It’s so nice of you to notice.” Lois snaps.

“I just meant that....”

Lois interrupts him, “Nevermind. I’m here for L&B business. I’m not in the mood to
argue with you about our relationship once again. Things just won’t change and I can’t
do anything about that. It’s you.”

Lois turns and walks away. Ned is worried that she is more upset about what is
happening with Brenda then she is willing to let on.

“What’s going on, Lois?”

Brenda takes the note in her hand and slowly backs up into her house. She quickly
shuts the shades and locks all the doors. Her hands start trembling as she rereads the
note once again. “I’m watching your every move.”

She doesn’t understand who could be doing this to her and why? Sonny had left and
was out of her life, so why now? Why couldn’t she just move on without something
going wrong? She hadn’t had any contact with Sonny since he left and this wasn’t the
first time things had been going on like this. She just wanted it all to end.

Brenda walks over to the phone as it rings. She answers it.

“Hello?” She says.

The only thing she hears is the dial tone. She sets the phone down and takes it off the
hook. She looks around her house.

“Why is this happening to me? What did I do?” She whispers.

Just then there is a knock at the door. She jumps at fearing who could be on the other
side of the door.

Chapter 3:

Sonny redials the number for Reece. It rings. Sonny thinks it’s about time that he got
through.

“Yeah.” Reece says.

“It’s me, Sonny Corinthos.” Sonny says.

“Oh, what can I do for you, Mr. Corinthos?”

“I need a meeting with you.” Sonny says.

“Why?”

“There are some things that we need to talk about.” Sonny says.

“No. There is nothing I need to discuss with you. As long as you keep your distance
from PC then your fine.” Reece warns.

“Obviously not. There are some things *I* need to say to you.”

“All right. A brief meeting at our usual spot in a half hour.” Reece says.

“That’s fine.” Sonny says. They both hang up the phone and Sonny whispers, “I
promise I will find out what is going on, Brenda and put a stop to it. I won’t let you get
hurt....I won’t.”

Brenda looks at the door and just stares at it for a few seconds before saying anything.

“Who is it!” She yells.

“It’s me, Jax.”

Brenda quickly unlocks the door and jumps into his arms. She holds on tightly.

“I’m so glad it’s you.” She says.

Jax pulls away for a little bit and looked at her. “Why? What happened, Brenda? And
why is your phone off the hook?” He asks.

“I got another card. And another prank call.”

“Let me see it.”

Brenda hands it to him. He reads it, but doesn’t say anything. She looks at him
strangely.

“What is it, Jax?” She asks.

Ned walks over to Lois and touches her hand. For a seconds she lets him touch her as
she looks into his eyes and then reality sets in. Her and Ned aren’t together.....in fact
they were very far apart.

Lois pulls away. “Nothing is wrong. I’m fine.”

“Why can’t you just tell me the truth. I understand.” He says.

“You understand? Who are you trying to kid. Me and Brenda are so close. She is
going through so many things right now. She has just been left by the man she thought
she was going to spend the rest of her life with. The man she trusted more than
anything and he left her. I know how she is feeling.” Lois says.

“Wait. That isn’t the same. You can’t compare the two, Lois.” Ned says.

“I can’t? Watch me.”

Jason looks at Robin and realizes that by coming he has upset her more than before.
He hadn’t heard her this angry in so long.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.” Jason says.

“No. Jason, I’m worried about Brenda and I’m so angry at Sonny for leaving her the
way he did.” Robin replies.

“He didn’t feel he had any other choice.”

“He always has a choice. But......oh, nothing.”

“I miss you. You look so beautiful.”

“I miss you, too.” Robin says with a smile and a glow in her eyes.

Chapter 4:

Jason inches closer to Robin and pulls her towards his body for a soft and tender kiss. She
holds on to his face wanting not to let go of him. He wraps his arms around her and
holding on to her as tight as he can. They finally pull apart.

“I’m scared.” Robin confeses.

“Of what?” Jason asks.

“Of what is ahead for you. I mean, you have already gotten shot at twice since Sonny has
been gone. What could happen the next time you get shot?” Robin asks with sadness.

“Robin, I can’t worry about that.”

“But, *I* worry about that.”

“I shouldn’t have come. All I am doing is making you more upset and that’s not what I
wanted. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.”

“Safe? Yeah....I am. Happy? I don’t think I am.” Robin says.

“Why? I thought everything was going good for you here?” He asks her.

“School is going great. But, your not here.”

“Robin....”

“No. I don’t know how to be truley happy without you, Jason. Can you at least tell me
you understand that?” She says with determination in her voice.

Brenda walks a little closer to Jax as she watches him stare at the card in front of him.
“Jax?”

Jax looks up and smiles. “Oh, sorry. I was just trying to figure out who would send this
to you.”

“I know. I don’t understand. Sonny’s gone and I haven’t heard or seen him since he left,
so why?” Brenda says.

“I don’t know. Maybe he’s sending them.”

“Jax, come on. Sonny doesn’t want anything to do with me. Why would he send me a
note like that?”

“Maybe it’s not him. You know I don’t like him and it could be his way of hurting you
more.”

“No. I know he wouldn’t do that to me.” She says.

“Not even after what he’s done?”

“Even after.” She says defensively.

“I don’t get it. Why do you keep saying you know him so well. He’s hurt you so much,
Brenda. He can never repair the damages.”

“Jax! Why are you doing this? Is there something about Sonny that you know that I
don’t?” She asks him.

V paces around Jaxs’ PH waiting for him to get back from checking on Brenda. She
wondered how he could possibly want her back. After all, she did turn her back on him
when she wanted to get back together with Sonny.

“Why can’t he see that we could have something if he just let her go. Why can’t he let her
go?” V wonders to herself.

“What am I thinking! Could he really fall for someone like me? What do I have to offer?”
V whispers. She let’s her insecurities take the better of her.

Sonny walks up to his and Reece’s normal meeting place. He paces the warehouse
waiting for him to show.

Finally someone comes up behind him and Sonny turns around and sees who it is.

“I thought you said a half hour? I was beginning to think you wouldn’t show up.” Sonny
says.

“I’m here, Mr. Corinthos. Now, what is it you had to speak with me about?” Reece asks.

“About some things that are going down in Port Charles. I think your behind them and I
want them to stop.” Sonny informs him.

Chapter 5:

Reece gets a uneasy feeling as he sees the look of anger and determination from Sonny.
He doesn’t exactly know what to tell him. Sure he knew who was behind the trouble in
PC, but he couldn’t tell him. If he told him.....he would be dead. How was he going to
get around Sonny’s questions.

“I don’t know what you mean.” Reece fibbed.

“I think you do. I want to know who is threatening Brenda and sending her notes.”
Sonny demanded.

“Brenda? What about her? I promised nothing would happen as long as you kept your
distance. Unless....you’ve been back.”

“NO! But, I do have my contacts and I know Brenda isn’t out of danger. So, tell me Mr.
Reece, what’s going on.” Sonny says.

“Jax? What do you know?” Brenda questions him.

“Nothing. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I am just worried about you, Brenda.”
Jax says.

“I’m fine. Now, I have to call Lois about some L&B stuff, so you can go. I will be fine.”
She promises.

“If that’s what you want.”

“Yes, it is.” Brenda tells him.

“Ok. But, if you need anything....don’t hesitate to call.”

She smiles at how great he was being with her. She treasured the friendship that they
shared. “I will call if I need you.”

Jax nods and turns to go out the door. “Jax.” Brenda calls out after him.

He turns to look at her and smiles. “Yeah?”

“Thank you.” She says with a smile.

“Anytime.” He says and then he leaves to go back to his PH.

Brend picks up the phone to call Lois at the gatehouse.

Lois decides not to continue her conversation with Ned. She walks away from him and he
just watches her. All he wants is the truth from her and it doesn’t seem to be working.

“Lois, why do you have to shut me out like that? I am not Sonny!” Ned says.

“You might as well be!” Lois screams. She stops when the phone rings. She answers it.
“L&B.”

Jason reaches out for Robin and pulls her close to his chest and just holds her for a few
minutes before saying anything. They pull away and Robin looks at him.

“Of course I can understand that.” Jason tells her.

“I wasn’t sure. I thought maybe if you let me leave then you let me go in your heart.”
Robin says.

“How could I do that? You’ve changed my life. I am a better person because of you.”
Jason says.

“What do we do now?” She asks him.

“You stay here and I go back to PC. There isn’t much else we can do.” Jason says.

“What? You want me to stay here after seeing you again. It was hard enough letting you
go the first time and then you come to see me and you want me to let you go again?”
Robin says.

“I don’t know what you want me to do. I don’ know how to fix it.”

“Yes, you do.”

“I can’t leave the organization. It’s a part of me now.”

“You don’t have to pretend, Jason. I know that you are the line of fire now.....(she
whispers) the way Sonny was. Why can’t your life or our life together be worth more
than what you have with that business? Don’t you care whether you ever see me again?”
She says as a tear makes it’s way down her face.

Chapter 6:

Reece knows he has to tell Sonny somthing so he takes a deep breath. “Let me see what I
can find out. I still have some contacts in Port Charles.” Reece says.

“You do that. I want to hear from you in 24 hours and if I don’t.....I am going back to
Port Charles myself to find out what is going on.” Sonny informs him.

With those words Sonny turns around and heads back to his beach house.

“Lois, it’s me.” Brenda says.

“Hey, Bren. How are you doing?” Lois asks. She turns away from Ned and focuses her
attention all on Brenda.

“I was ok.”

“What happened?”

“I got another note.”

“What did it say?”

“Something about watching my every move. Jax showed up, too. So, have any L&B
business we can go over?” Brenda asks.

“Actually....yes. But, are you sure you want to go over it after what just happened?” Lois
says.

“Yes! I need to get my mind off things.” Brenda says.

“Ok. I’ll be right over.”

They hang up and Lois turns back to Ned. “I have to go see Brenda. I can’t get into this
with you anymore.” Lois tells him.

“But.....if we don’t then we’ll never work things out.”

“What makes you think we will, Ned? Or that I even want to?” She says.

“Lois, don’t do this to us.”

“You were the one that did this to *us*. It’s done.” Lois says and then leaves the
gatehouse without one more look at Ned.

Brenda makes her way out to the porch of her house and the breeze reminds her of one of
the last nights she had spend with Sonny. She knew that he had left her life forever, but
she couldn’t help but think of the memories that they shared.

[FLASHBACK]

S-”I never knew love was enough, but when I look at you I know it has to
be.”
B-”We’ll always be enough for each other.”

[REALITY]

Brenda throws her head back and takes a deep breath. She leans her head back up and
wipes away a few tears. She hates to admit it, but she misses Sonny so much. She can’t
believe what has happened to them.

“Sonny, why wasn’t our love enough? We had been through so much and I finally
believed that we really had made it this time. What went wrong? I won’t believe you
didn’t love me. I felt it. If I only knew why you left me the way you did.” She whispers.

She hears a noise in the bushes and that snaps her out of her thoughts of Sonny. “Who’s
there.” She says.

Sonny walks on the beach and he leans down on the sand and touches it and let’s it slide
through is fingers. He thinks back to when him and Brenda ran away from the men who
were shooting at them in Puerto Rico. He thinks of how they made love on the beach.
How good it felt for him to hold her and kiss her and feel her body next to his.

[FLASHBACK]

S-”I’m so glad your alive.” He says before they begin to make love.

[REALITY]

“That’s how it should be again. I should have you here with me. We should be making
love on the beach. We should be married. We should be together. What I wouldn’t give
for that, baby. I ache for you and it keeps getting worse. Can I really stay away forever
to keep you safe?” He says to himself.
Sonny knows that the longer he sits there thinking he will only be thinking of her. She
was the only thing he could think of there. Everything reminded him of her. Brenda was
always in his heart.....she was everywhere he went.

He decides to go call Luke and tell him about his meeting with Reece. Sonny takes out his
cell phone and dials Luke’s number to his office while he heads inside.

“Spencer.” Luke says.

“It’s me.” Sonny replies.

“Hey. Did you have your meeting?” Luke asks.

“Yeah. He said he would find out what was going on. He said he didn’t know.” Sonny
says.

“Do you buy it?”

“No, I don’t. I could tell by how he acted that he knew more than he was letting on. I
have to get to the bottom line before something happens to her.” Sonny anwers.

“All right. I will come to where you are so we can figure this out.” Luke says.

“What if you are seen? What are you going to tell Laura anyway?” Sonny asks.

“I will use a different identity. Laura knows what is going on and she will keep quite. She
understands.”

“I guess. All right. When are you coming?” Sonny asks Luke.

“I will be there tonight.” Luke tells him.

“Ok. See you then.”

Luke and Sonny hangs up. Luke picks up his phone and dials the number to Laura in
Switzerland.

“Hello.” Laura says.

“Hey, baby.” Luke says with a smile.

“Luke. It’s nice to hear from you. I miss you.” Laura replies.

“I miss you too, baby. Look, I wanted to call and tell you that I am going to see Sonny. I
will call you when I get there. There are some things happening with Brenda and we are
going to get to the bottom of this.”

“Ok. Be careful and call me soon.”

“I will.” Luke says.

“I love you.” Laura tells him.

“I love you too, baby.” Luke says.

They hang up and Luke calls and makes a plane reservation under the name of Spencer
Davis. He puts on his cothes and a hat and sunglasses before he heads to the airport.

“Let’s do it!” Luke says with a grin. He leaves for the airport.

Jax walks into his PH and finds V on the phone with a business associate. He smiles as he
watches her work her magic with them. She smiles when she sees him. She finishes up
her call and hangs up. Jax is still looking at her when she turns around and she starts to
feel a tad uncomfortable.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” V asks him.

Robin shrugs Jason off after he tries to hold her. “Don’t do that, Jason. I know......I have
heard it so many times. I just thought that after us being apart that you could possibly
miss me just as much as I miss you. What a joke!” Robin says.

“Just wait a minute, Robin. I *do* miss you and still want to be with you, but we just
can’t. I don’t want to put you in danger.” Jason answers.

“You don’t think I’ve ever been in danger? You think that you are the only one that has
put me in danger? Get over yourself, Jason. Sure, I have been in danger sometimes with
you being the cause, but there have been plently of people in my life that have put me in
danger. My stepfather.....Sonny.....even myself. Me having AIDS puts me in danger
every day of my life. G*D, if I was smart I wouldn’t want you near me because I could
put your life in danger. But, I love you, Jason and I want to be with you! Why is that so
hard?” She asks him. She knows she shouldn’t get so angry, but she knows that he will
listen then. She looks at him waiting for him to just say something to her.....no response.

Chapter 7:

Jason looks at Robin not knowing what to say. Finally she walks away from him and
walks over to the window and looks out at the night sky (it’s night time in Paris in this
story) and watches the stars.

“I wish things could go back to where they use to be with Jason. Please help me, Stone.”
Robin says to herself.

Jason looks down at the floor. He hates to see her in pain.......especially when he knows
that he is the cause of it. He would do anything to take her pain away, but he didn’t know
if it was possible this time.

Jason walks up behind her and places his hands on her shoulder and then pulls her back to
rest against his chest. He wraps his arms around her. “Robin, listen to me. I would do
anything to take your pain away. You have to know that. I know your scared about your
HIV endangering me, but it’s not the same.”

Robin pulls away from him. “What is danger to you, Jason? G*d! How can you not see
HIV as dangerous. It can be just as deadly as a gun shot....don’t you see that?” She tells
him.

“Yes. I understand. What do you want me to do? Please, just tell me!” Jason answers
back.

She doesn’t say anything. She just walks back over to him and gives him a passionate
kiss.

Brenda turns around and sees someone in the bushes. She runs over there and finds two
guys with guns. She looks at them and knows she has never seen them before. But....she
knows who sent them.

She gets angry and starts yelling at them. “I know who sent you and I want you to tell
your *boss* that if he ever has anyone of you guys back here again I am calling the police
and if that doesn’t work I will you shoot you both myself. I don’t need protection from
anyone, but Jason does so go protect him! Do you got that!!!”

The men don’t say anything. One guy speaks up. “I’m sorry, miss. We can’t leave. We
are ordered to watch you.”

Lois walks over to Brenda. “Bren, who are these guys?”

“Someone Jason hired. He thinks I need protection.” She says giving a smirk. “Oh,
forget it. You want to stay here....go ahead.”

Brenda heads inside and Lois follows her inside. Brenda closes the door after they are
inside. “Um....Bren, don’t you think you need protection?” Lois asks her.

“NO!” Brenda snaps.

Jax apologizes to V for staring. “So, is everything going all right?” He asks her.

“Yeah. All the business orders are all done for today. Is there anything else you need me
for?” V asks him.

“Well, I don’t really feel like being alone. What would you say about ordering dinner and
eating with me?” Jax asks her hoping she will agree.

“Sure. I mean, if you don’t mind.”

“I would love it. Chinese again?” Jax asks with a smile.

“That would be great.”

V reaches for the phone and Jax does at the same time. V looks at their hands touching
and then looks up at him and into his eyes. She can feel the electricity between them.

Jax doesn’t know what to make of it, but he knows he hasn’t felt like this in so long. Not
even with....Brenda. “I can order. Your off duty, V. Your my guest.” Jax says with a
smile.

V takes her hand off and watches him order dinner. She couldn’t believe they were going
to have dinner alone together.

Reece’s cell phone rings and he picks it up. “Yeah.”

“Are you nuts. You had a meeting with Mr. Corinthos. He is not to know anything. You
could have leaked something out.” The man says.

“How could I do that when I don’t know what is going on? Don’t worry....he didn’t
notice a thing.” Reece answers.

“As far as you know. There will be repercutions if he does find out. And if he does find
out what is going on.....you will be a dead man. So, you better hope he doesn’t have a
clue.” The man says.

“All right. No more meetings. What is the next step.” Reece asks.

“You my friend........are going to kidnapp Ms. Brenda Barrett.” The man tells him.

Lois knows better to believe Brenda when she is on the edge and is jumpy. “All right. Sit
down and relax.” Lois tells her.

They go and sit down on the couch. “Sorry, Lo. I am going a little crazy with all these
notes and phone calls.”

“I know, sweetie. What did Jax say?” Lois asks.

“You won’t believe this, but he thinks it’s Sonny.” Brenda tells her.

“Sonny? Is he crazy? Look, I know he left you, but I also know he loved you more than
life itself. Sonny would be the last person to hurt you. You do know that, don’t you?”
Lois says.

When Brenda doesn’t respond Lois looks at her. “Bren! Oh, come on.” Lois says.

“No. I know.....I know. I don’t think it is Sonny either. I wish I knew where he was and
if he was thinking about me like I think about him?”

“Don’t do this to yourself. Believe me....I know how hard it is being away from the man
you love. But, I am here for you. You can count on me.” Lois tells her.

“I know I can. I don’t know where I would be without you.” Brenda says with a slight
smile.

Luke arrives at Sonny’s beach house and walks right in. “I’m here!” Luke yells.

Sonny comes from out back and goes over to Luke. “Thanks, man.” Sonny tells him.

“Sure. Now, what have you heard?”

“Nothing yet. But, I can’t wait around till something happens to her. Things aren’t right,
Luke. I can feel it. Something bad is going to happen and I have to stop it!” Sonny tells
him.
