1. You must love Sonny and Brenda and desire that General Hospital remains true to their ongoing love story.
2. You must show respect for both the characters of Sonny and Brenda, as well as the actors who portray them.
a. Do not attack the actors because of something their characters say or do. Our hope is that even if TPTB (the powers that be) decide not to put Brenda and Sonny back together, that they do not destroy and or rewrite the history and the love that these two characters shared. However, often characters will behave in ways that are upsetting and frustrating. It is easy to get angry and start bashing the characters and actors. The more appropriate and effective response is to be specific as to what your complaint is. Whether it be actions or dialogue, say what you didn't like and why. A "Sonny is a creep or Brenda is a B**ch" post is not going to get you very far. Both Vanessa Marcil and Maurice Benard are very protective of their characters. Attacking their characters is like attacking them.
3. You must show respect for your fellow S&Believers. This means that under no circumstances should any S&Believer ever publicly chastise, demean, or disrespect your fellow S&Believer sisters and/or brothers. This applies to e-mail correspondence with members of the opposing camps (a.k.a. the Angels or J&B fans). This type of thing should be handled directly with the individual through private e-mail or through me. This is not an attempt to censor opinions, discourage those of you who may like the character of Jax, or stifle friendships, but rather to present an united front on and off the boards.
4. When posting online, you must defend S&B by posting positive, funny, witty, or passionate posts.
5. After fighting to restore the S&Believer name from a lot of negative press, we want the image of S&Believers to remain a positive one. As a result, we have a few guidelines to posting and other online behavior:
a. Never intentionally flame another poster. If you must vent, do so on S&B Online and put the word "vent" prominently in the title.
b. Walk away from a personal flame....let your fellow S&Believers defend you (contact your fellow S&Believers for support)
c. If you are defending against a personal flame of another S&Believer, do it in a positive way.
d. Never use abusive or foul language when posting.
e. Threats, or extremely negative letters, posts, or e-mails to TPTB or other fans will not be tolerated.
4. Comments and criticisms regarding actors must be kept in good taste. Comments regarding race, religion, sexual preference, or other personal things is not acceptable topics for message board/folder discussions.
a. You must keep in mind that you are representing the group when you use your taglines. Many of your fellow members may like the actor/character you are bashing. Please try to keep that in mind.
b. Comments should be kept to things such as acting talent, public behavior, interview comments, etc. Comments about wardrobe, physical appearance should be tempered with restraint. Actors, to a certain degree to expose themselves to comments about their appearance, however, keep in mind that certain things people are born with ie: height & facial features. If you think someone is ugly, you have the right to say so, but make sure you emphasize that it is your opinion and that you respect their differentiating opinion.
5. Positive e-mail and snail-mail to TPTB is recommended. This is the best and most effective way to get our voice heard and inform TPTB that we will not accept the rewriting of the history of the Sonny and Brenda love story. If you need addresses, let me know!!
