Sonny is lying in his bed in Port Charles while Brenda is in a hotel room in Rochester. (Brenda's “friend” is Lois, who has fallen for singer Eddie Maine, the alter ego of Ned Ashton.)
Brenda calls Sonny.
Brenda: It's me again.
Sonny: Brenda, you called back.
Brenda: Yes, I did.
Sonny: Your friend seems to be leaving you with a lot of time on your hands.
Brenda: My friend is hopelessly in love.
Sonny: Is that a good thing?
Brenda: It's a good thing for the two of them, but for me it's a little…
Sonny: Lonely?
Brenda: Yeah. It's a drag.
Sonny: Well, if you got your butt back to Port Charles, I could fix that in a New York minute.
Brenda: You can?
Sonny: The thought of you lonely just breaks my heart.
Brenda: You are too good to me.
Sonny: We've only just begun. Between us, we can make the angels sing.
Brenda: You promise?
Sonny: Guaranteed, you'll see.
Brenda: I don't know. You haven't been very well and I don't want to zap your strength or anything.
Sonny (smiles): I know my limitations and you're not one of them.
Brenda: I'm not? We'll just see about that.
Sonny: Promise?
Brenda: I don't make promises. Goodnight, Sonny.
Sonny: Sweet dreams.
